Nice to meet you! I’m Keeley Estrada (she/her), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Authentic LA Therapy. I completed my master’s in marriage and family therapy at University of Southern California and bachelor’s in psychology at San Jose State University. I am passionate about helping others connect with their true selves and live in their values.
I have extensive clinical experience at all levels of care including intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, community mental health, schools, and outpatient therapy. This background allows me to bring a wealth of experience to my work. I take a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on getting to know you and your unique story. I show up to sessions genuinely as myself and really care for my clients. I strive to create a warm, personable space to reflect on experiences, process emotions, and gain insight to patterns. My goal is to support and empower my clients!
When I’m not working I enjoy going to the beach, taking walks, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
Meet Keeley
Our work together.
I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship for the foundation of growth and healing. My approach is caring, empathetic, and challenging. I often incorporate the below techniques into therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidenced based treatment. It is based on the theory that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors impact each other. I work with clients to uncover unhelpful thought patterns and challenging them. This process can help you build healthy self esteem, cope emotionally, and reach your goals.
Self Compassion
Self compassion emphasizes treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would give to a friend. Increasing awareness of difficult emotions and learning to respond with compassion can facilitate a healthier relationship with yourself.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy involves reflecting on your past to better understand how it may be impacting you now. In session this may look like processing childhood memories, learning about attachment styles, and exploring relationships. This approach supports in building insight, understanding emotions, and improving relationships.
Values
Connecting with values drives purposeful and meaningful decision making. When we intentionally align our actions with our values that’s where we can live our most authentic life. I support identifying and incorporating values into daily living. I can support exploration of what you want your life to look like and making it happen.
Person Centered
Research shows that one of the most important predictors of therapy outcomes is the therapist client relationship. I am honored to hear each client’s story and place so much value in the therapeutic relationship. I show up as my genuine self and want you to feel comfortable to do the same!
Solution Focused
This approach is strengths based and goal oriented. It focuses on exploring desired outcomes and identifying specific steps to work towards your goals. Your strengths are utilized to generate a plan. Some may prefer this style of therapy if they have a specific goal in mind and just need a little support to get there.
